But I was really busy since the last post, I made some D.I.Y !
Pas mal de temps depuis mon dernier article !
Mais je n'ai pas chômé entre temps, j'ai fait du bricolage !
In my way to be a greater photographer, I've recently decided to improve my skills with artificial lighting. For years, I'm admirative with the work of some photographers really talented with the use of lights, flashes, spots, ect.
Dans ma démarche de progression en photo, j'ai décidé de m'attaquer à la lumière artificielle.
Depuis plusieurs années, je suis fasciné par le travail de quelques photographes qui ont un talent particulier dans l'utilisation des flashes, lampes, spots ect.
The first one I was really fan of his work was Daniel Meissner a.k.a Silent View or Silent Order (on Deviant Art where I've posted my first pictures years ago).
Le premier photographe que j'ai admiré pour cela était Daniel Meissner a.k.a Silent View ou Silent Order (sur Deviant Art où j'ai posté mes premières photos il y a des années de ça).
Then I met the French Parisian Photographer Nicolas Meunier. I saw him in many Japanese culture events like Japan Expo or the Lolita Convention. I was looking for his work and I was really impressed by the light on his pictures.
J'ai ensuite rencontré le photographe Parisien Nicolas Meunier, que j'ai eu l'occasion de croiser sur des événements en rapport avec la culture Japonaise comme Japan Expo ou la convention Lolita. Je me suis intéressé à son travail et j'ai été vraiment impressionné par la lumière sur ses photos.
A few months ago at Paris Manga, I was able to see him taking pictures in a background I've known very well because I was taking part of it's bulding. And see what he was able to make on this background totally amaze me ! So I decided to work seriously on the use of artificial lighting.
Il y a quelques mois, à Paris Manga, j'ai pu le voir faire quelques photos dans un décor que je connaissait bien puisque j'avais participé à sa réalisation. Et voir ce qu'il à réussi à en sortir m'a vraiment impressionné et décidé à me lancer sérieusement dans l'utilisation de la lumière artificielle.
When he took the picture above (the Steampunk inspired singer Mansara) I was able to see the lighting system used. It was a Profoto Octa lighting kit with Grid similar to the one shown on this page or on the picture below.
Pendant la prise de la photo que vous voyez ci dessus (la chanteuse d'inspiration Steampunk Mansara), j'ai pu voir le matériel utilisé, qui était un Kit d'éclairage Profoto Octa avec Grid semblable à ce qui est présenté sur cette page ou en photo ci dessous.
As I do not have to money to buy stuff like this, I started a DIY project that I will soon explain in a tutorial post (I plan to build a second one ^^).
This work lead me to this result :
N'ayant pas le budget pour m'équiper de la sorte, j'ai décidé de me lancer dans un grand bricolage que je ne tarderais pas à vous expliquer en détails lors d'un prochain article tuto (je compte m'en fabriquer un deuxième ^^).
Ce travail m'a mené jusqu'à ce résultat :

First experiment at a friends house with Estelle.
Première expérience chez un ami avec Estelle.
J'ai sobrement appelé cette photo "Microwave Cooking", je ne nomme jamais mes photos, mais celle là le méritait vraiment ! Il faut avouer que j'étais tellement pris par l'utilisation du système d'éclairage que je n'ai apporté aucune attention à la composition de la photo, ce n'est que par la suite que j'ai remarqué le micro onde en arrière plan.
In a more professional way, I made this picture set a few days ago with the singer Nathalie B. Fleur Manouche, also with my new lighting system.
I'm really proud of this set, I succeeded to put on the picture the universe of the singer on these warm pictures.
D'une manière bien plus professionnelle et moins "à l'arrache" que pour le test, j'ai réalisé il à y quelques jours, des photos pour la chanteuse Nathalie B. Fleur Manouche, toujours avec mon nouveau système d'éclairage.
Je suis vraiment fier de cette série, car j'ai réussi à retranscrire l'univers de la chanteuse dans des photos chaleureuses.
