I continue my Steampunk series started last week with the Doctor Ys.
Aujourd'hui je vous présente Esthel Von Thiemann, plus connue sous le nom de Bonbon Maléfique, que vous avez vu sur beaucoup de mes photos.
Today I introduce you Esthel Von Thiemann, as know as Bonbon Maléfique. You could see her on many of my pictures.
Esthel Von Thiemann is a singer born in 1886 in the German Empire under the reign of Wilhelm I.
After knowing a small success, she traveled all around the old continent, performing on small stages in the biggest European cities.
On April 9th 1912 she ended up in Southampton to perform her last European concert before leaving for the new world.
Esthel Von Thiemann est une chanteuse née en 1886 dans le tout nouvel Empire Allemand alors sous le règne de Guillaume 1er.
Ayant connu un petit succès, elle parcourut le vieux continent se produisant dans les petites salles des plus grandes villes d’Europe. C’est en partance pour le nouveau monde qu’elle se retrouva le 9 avril 1912 à Southampton pour jouer ce qui devait être son dernier concert sur le sol européen.
Her passion for singing and melancholical spirit made her the perfect target for the Chronomegaphon.
The Chronomegaphon is a creation of Doctor Ys, which was initially created to record music all over the multiverse. These recordings were selected to satisfy the Doctor's musical mood.
The complexity of the connections of the Chronomegaphon accitendally gave him a rudimentary conciousness.
After selecting Esthel Von Thiemann, Chronomegaphon seemed to have a dysfunctionment, and did not follow his original program.
For her last concert, Esthel found herself singing into this strange microphone stand.
However, she fainted during the concert and only woke up the next day in the afternoon, and she noticed that she missed her boat for New York.
6 days later, she learned about the Titanic tragedy in the newspapers, and realized that she escaped death.
Sa passion pour le chant et son esprit mélancolique en firent une cible rêvée pour le Chrono Mégaphone.
Le Chrono Mégaphone est une création du Docteur Ys destiné à l'origine à ramener des enregistrements, notamment musicaux, glanés de par le multivers. Enregistrements sélectionnés afin de convenir aux souhaits d’écoute et à l’humeur du Docteur.
La complexité des connexions du Chrono Mégaphone l'a accidentellement doté d'une conscience rudimentaire.
Après avoir sélectionné Esthel Von Thiemann, Chrono Mégaphone a subi ce qui semblerait être un dysfonctionnement et n'a alors plus suivi son programme d'origine.
Dans les faits, Esthel se retrouva pour cette ultime prestation à chanter dans ce curieux pied de micro. Cependant pour une raison inconnue, elle perdit connaissance durant le concert et ne se réveilla que le lendemain après midi, se rendant compte qu’elle avait raté son bateau pour New York.
Ce n’est que six jours plus tard qu’elle apprit le naufrage du Titanic dans la presse et qu’elle réalisa avoir échappé à la mort…
But the most important event affecting her would take several years to be noticeable.
She went on with her musical carreer, always with the Chronomegaphon which wasn't leaving her anymore.
Actually, against the will of his original creator, the artefact refused to let his symbiot host age.
The singer did not age or change since then, but it seems like that she cannot stay away from her strange parasite, or she will age very quickly.
It seems like the Chronomegaphon is in love with his host !
Of course, this kind of singularity, as it's seen as the founted of youth, some people are eager for it.
Mais l’événement le plus important la concernant mettrait plusieurs années à devenir évident. Elle continua sa carrière musicale, toujours accompagnée du Chrono Mégaphone qu’elle ne quittait plus alors.
En effet, contrairement aux souhaits initiaux de son créateur, l'artefact a de son propre chef refusé de laissé vieillir son hôte symbiote, Esthel.
La chanteuse n'a apparemment plus changé ni vieilli depuis lors mais il semblerait qu'elle ne peut physiquement s'éloigner beaucoup de son étrange parasite sous peine de laisser apparaitre les outrages du temps.
Il semblerait que le Chrono Mégaphone soit tout simplement amoureux de son hôte !
Bien évidemment ce type de singularité, perçu par certains comme une fontaine de jouvence, est terriblement convoité!
Esthel, sweet and precious woman, had to learn to protect herself after decades, and turned into a very dangerous person, mastering unarmed combat, and also bladed weapons and firearms.
Since then, the Esthel/Chronomegaphon couple are fugitives like Doctor Ys, who regularly welcomes them on the Magda III.
Of course Ys emancipated his creation, as he would never enslave a concious being.
Since then, to thank Doctor Ys for saving her life without knowing, she wrote the song "Porcelain" for him.
Esthel, femme précieuse et douce à l'origine, a du apprendre à se défendre au fil des décennies et est devenue une personne extrêmement dangereuse, maitrisant aussi bien le combat à mains nues que le maniement des armes blanches et des armes à projectiles.
Depuis lors, le couple Esthel/Chrono mégaphone sont des fugitifs au même titre que le Docteur Ys qui les accueille régulièrement à bord du Magda III en qualité d'invités de marque.
Ys a bien évidemment émancipé sa création car il n'asservirait jamais un être conscient.
Depuis lors, Esthel à remercié le Docteur d’avoir, bien malgré lui sauvé sa vie, en lui composant le morceau « Porcelain ».
